Reviews Summary

Khan el-Khalili is a vibrant and historic market offering a unique shopping experience with a vast array of goods. Visitors praise its lively atmosphere and the thrill of finding treasures, though many caution about inflated prices and aggressive vendors. It's a place to explore, bargain, and soak in the culture, but requires a discerning eye to avoid being overcharged.

"Nice view, good for just visiting but everything here might charge you over price like more than three times from normal if you are not Egyptian. Our guide recommend us to only buy things from the government shop beside the oldest church in Cairo, it's reasonable price there."

Tat Orio

"It is a lovely place, people are very nice, it is safe.
I would love to go there again and again, it was the best experience in my visit to Egypt.
The only thing is they definitely scam you with the prices."

Yas Min

"Huge huge market with hundreds of vendors. The upper part is more geared towards tourists and from here you can buy souvenirs and many more. You can easily get lost. I found the vendors to be okay. They all have their own techniques. After all, they have to sell to survive! If you are uncomfortable with prices, always try another stall. Prices can be inflated so do negotiate or shop around. There are eateries as well.
Beware of scammers who hang around the main road. They will befriend you and lead you to shops you don’t want to visit.
I loved this market and was glad to come away with a fair bit of purchase supporting locals whilst not being ripped off."
