"This was a very informative little museum about the Estonian author and philologist Johannes Aavik and his brother Joosep Aavik, an influential figure in Saaremaa and Estonia’s folk scene. The placards are in both English and Estonian. I didn’t know anything about these two figures before arriving, as I’m not from Estonia, but the museum staff was very friendly and gave me an overview of the museum as well as some interesting facts about the Estonian language. There was also a special exhibition about the Estonian language in the backyard, which I was able to translate with my phone. On the day I visited, there was also a free concert in the backyard, which was lovely."
