What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Ásmundarstakkur, calling it one of the top views in the Faroe Islands and the nicest place in Suðuroy. The dramatic sea stack, coastal cliffs, and the iconic wooden bridge are consistently praised. While the hike is generally manageable, the steep final approach and the bridge itself can be a thrilling challenge for some.
"Nicest place in Sudoroy in my opinion. Amazing views at the cliffs and sea stack. Nearby is also famous wooden bridge.
Hike to it isn't very hard, just the end before bridge is steep, but it can be done in less than 1 hour. Unfortunately I had low hanging clouds when I visited."

"This is a highly recommend point for light hike but premium scenery. The road is blocked for car, but visitor can walk in through a movable board from right hand side. Then you can walk along the unpaved driving road until you see a sign pointing to Asmundarstakkur. Just follow the pointed direction, keep walking through the soft comfortable grassland to the direction of Asmundarstakkur at google map. Then you’ll see a pole at the far end at the view point. Good luck! ps you don’t have to look for any sign, because by keeping walking toward the cliff, you’ll finally arrived at the view point."

"This was one of the top views of the Faroe Islands.
It is a weird hike though. You start by walking through, what seems to be private property. Follow the gravel path. You can open the gate easily on the righthandside. After some time you will find a signpost pointing the way to the viewpoint. Along the grassy hills there are small markers leading the way. We found some broken along the way, so just keep walking!"
