Mufti Menk, a famous muslim scholar was at jamia mosque today and the road was packed to the brim. There was no movement and people had to wait for almost 30 minutes after the prayer so that they could move. Those who came to see him had to pray on the road because the mosque was full.

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Mufti Jami Mosque as a remarkably well-preserved historical gem and the only surviving Muslim religious building in Feodosia. Its 17th-century architecture, inspired by Istanbul mosques, and its cool, serene interior are highlights. Some visitors note challenges with access or specific rules, like pet restrictions.

"Mufti-Jami is a Friday mosque in Feodosia (Crimea). The only surviving historical Muslim religious building in the city and its environs.
From the late 18th to the early 20th century, it was the Armenian Catholic Church of the Assumption.
The building was built from 1623 to 1630 by the Feodosia Turks, following the example of medieval Istanbul mosques. In front of the building there was a türbe, which has not survived to this day. After Crimea was annexed to the Russian Empire, the building was given to Armenian Catholics."

Dmitry Galitskiy

"Compared to the state of other heritage sites, the condition is simply fabulous. Very modest decoration, which does not detract from its value, cool and fresh in the heat. There is a parking lot.
The Friday Mosque in Feodosia is the only Muslim religious building that has survived since the time when the Crimean Peninsula was part of the Ottoman Empire, and the city itself, which at that time was called Kafa, was compared to medieval Istanbul.
The construction of the Mufti-Cami Mosque was completed in 1630, when Turkey was ruled by Sultan Murad Khan III. The Istanbul mosques of that time served as a model for the building.
The architectural monument has been partially rebuilt and restored more than once, but its dome and minaret have changed very little since the 17th century."

Евгения Мустафаева

"Assalamu aleikum, I want to thank from the bottom of my heart everyone who is involved in looking after the mosque, maintaining order and cleanliness in it. I myself came from Dagestan to the forum, I didn’t think that I would be able to find a mosque here."
