Hello everyone I’m travelling to Savonlinna for work in a couple of days and my wife is tagging along and I’m wondering whats there to do. We’ll both enjoy hiking and berry picking. We’ll have a car so we are fairly mobile. We’ll be there for a couple of weeks.

What time of year? Start from helsinki. Get a car. Go east. Punkaharju , then savonlinna. From there to Mikkeli and hämeenlinna. After depending what you like turku / tamperw or back to helsinki.

The well-preserved station area and the place where this railway station is located are exceptional, there is no similar station in a similar location elsewhere in Finland. For those who do not know, the former name of this station was Punkasalmi and the station at the Lusto stop was Punkaharju station."
