Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Sibelius Museum to be an architecturally stunning and engaging experience, particularly for its interactive music exhibits and instrument collection. While some feel the direct information about Sibelius himself could be more comprehensive, the overall atmosphere and the unique Brutalist building are highly praised, making it enjoyable for families and music enthusiasts alike.

"A worthwhile experience, but it needs a spot of curatorial TLC. As others have noted, the information about Sibelius himself is not exhaustive and I would have expected it to be in a museum dedicated to him. I appreciated the information on his contemporaries, but it needs to be in the context of their influence/impact on Sibelius.

The interps panels are great, but sadly those in the performance space had no English. And the interps for the instruments in the basements is minimal (and thus disappointing).

I was impressed with the interactive components of the museum."

Steve Kyne

"An experiential music complex that presents the past and flirts with the future. Located in a beautiful Brutalist building, and includes a wonderful performance space, at the edge of which there are musical instruments for display and experience. Instead of additional spaces with changing exhibitions, very enjoyable for children and adults."

Einat Schreibman Fainholtz

"Architecture and the interior of this place is so beautiful. I highly recommend a visit,"
