What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the friendly and helpful staff of boat rental companies, with some even receiving unexpected souvenirs. The proximity of the Agde base to the railway station is also a plus. However, a significant number of reviews highlight concerns about boat maintenance, with issues like non-functional toilets, fridges, and leaks being reported, which can detract from the experience.
"Les Canalus people were just great and always very helpful! Thank you Florent, Jonathan, Olivo and Fodo! We will come back again to sail with you!"

"Friendly staff! Very flexible with “small things”. We even got some souvenirs for free from the base manager!
The base is close to the city. Railway station just 5 minutes walking!
Thank you for the service provided!
Good place! We will visit again"

"The Boat was clean but in need of maintenance. We had problems with the toiltets and the fridge. The fridge simply did not work adequately, nor did one of the toilets. We were given a plank to use for boarding where the canal bank was not level with the boat and this plank was slippery and quite dangerous. There were several curtains missing in the living area and the water guage worked only sporadically. The canal Du Midi is not the most picturesque area to visit as the towns are quite sparse and several are a distance from the canal. We picked a period in the middle of a heat wave so our negative view is probably coloured by that fact.We feel that better preparation by the boat company should have been given to us before leaving so we would know what to expect and avoid some of the issues we faced.eg the onboard water is undrinkable, even for tea and coffee!"
