Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Muséoparc Alésia for its beautiful modern architecture and engaging, interactive exhibitions that bring Roman history to life. The impressive reconstructed fortifications outside are a major highlight, offering a tangible connection to the past. While some wished for more access to the outdoor camp, the overall experience is highly recommended for its educational value and good price-quality ratio.

"Beautiful museum with interesting exhibition

The building is beautiful and makes the vist worthwhile. The 'wood' on top of the museum and the views all around are great. The exhibition is made interesting for young children as well in different ways. Especcially the small lego displays. Brilliant.

It would have been even better if the campement outside of the museum could not just be looked at, but that one can actually go in there. In this respect it would also be nice to have more buildings from that long time ago rebuilt on the outside terrain which is very large.

Parking is very easy and for free. The restaurant was closed when we were there, but on the outside of the museum there was a picknick place where one can get delicious sandwiches, french fries, something to drink. All very reasonably priced and fresh and with nice service. But no obligation to buy anything, you can eat what you bring along as well.

The website says a visit can take up to 3 hours which we found a bit too much.

All in all worth the trip and a good price-quality relationship."

"Excellent modern historical discovery centre telling the story of Caesar's conquest of Gaul, culminating with the Battle of Alesia. Cafe/Restaurant on site and a range of interactive exhibits that brings the history alive. Highly recommended."

"I'm a Latin Teacher in the US. Wanted to visit this museum since it opened. 2 hours from Paris. We paid more for the fast train to get here in one hour. Stayed 2 hours for self tour inside and out. Took a taxi from Montbard to MuséoParc =35€. Fun day for a Latin Teacher and her husband who loves history. A great place for kids!"
