You have to understand what it is, and for non-natives it’s not obvious.
This place ONLY sells local wines.
They know a lot about them.
Tell them what you like and they’ll help you find the ideal wine.
And the prices are very reasonable.
I saw a review criticising the caveau BECAUSE THEY SPEAK FRENCH! I felt I had to let anyone interested know what they’ll miss if they don’t stop here.
If you’re interested in wine start here. Perhaps you’ll then visit a vineyard producing the wine you like and a new world will open for you."

"We loved this venue. Understandably wine by the glass is slightly dearer than a cafe but it's quality wine produced in Amboise. I never understand how visitors can walk in and walk out without purchasing when the prices are clearly displayed before you enter. And the owner will let you taste the robe before you buy a bottle of wine or by the glass. We purchased a beautiful bottle of rose from the region. It was 11 Euros to take away and 19 to drink in their bar. You have the option to purchase cheese meat olives etc to accompany your wine. I loved my wine so much I actually bought two bottles to take home. If your a visitor give this establishment a chance. Owner speak impeccable English so knowledgeable about the wines from this region and is very passionate about what wines they sell. Extremely impressed with our experience. I absolutely do recommend."
