Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Arras Belfry's stunning panoramic views and impressive Gothic architecture, noting the unique elevator and stair ascent. While the restoration is praised, some mention the wind at the top and the final steps requiring careful navigation.

"The bell tower of Aras, about 75 m high, is a real treasure of Gothic architecture. It was destroyed during the First World War but was accurately restored with reinforced concrete in non -visible parts.
The view from the top is indescribable: you see the squares with the Flemish baroque buildings, the panoramic views of Aras, the countryside around the city.
The ascent is a nice experience: you go up with an elevator and then about 30 steps on a twist staircase and thus reach the top. There it can blow quite a bit, so it takes a little attention.
The bell tower was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
It is an experience that combines history and architecture and is ideal for those who wish to look from the city."

Dimitris

Peter Wilkinson

"Easiest belltower ever, its been rebuilt after ww1 and they put an elevator in! Under the belfort are historic caves."
