"The first mass in this magnificent church was celebrated in 1892 in the already constructed part. The crypt was inaugurated in 1895 and construction was completed in 1898. The church was officially erected as a basilica in 1912 and consecrated on June 21, 1925. Local tradition has it that it was built on the site of the cave that housed Saint Férréol and Saint Ferjeux."
