Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Forteresse Royale de Chinon for its stunning views, fascinating history, and engaging interactive elements, particularly the tablets that provide historical context. "Really fabulous castle, lots of trails to do for children of all ages and you're given a tablet to scan key places around to get full history.
Only downside was some display boards only had French and a QR code English, which didn't work. (some had English and French printed, which would be good to have everywhere as the QR codes didn't work)"

"We visited during the medieval days and it was really lovely. The fortress/chateau itself is gorgeous, the views are stunning. Well explained and interesting even for the kids.
There seems to be some treasure hunts and games which we did not do as the medieval activities were distraction enough :) but I’m sure it would have been great.
You can get slightly discounted tickets at the tourist office just outside on regular days.
There are limited food options in the area especially on a Sunday so bring a picnic!
We did eat at the food truck outside but waited like an hour (it was really good though)."

"An extremely interesting and important historical place with not really lot of exhibition and things to see inside. Beautiful view outside, several historical buildings, lovely flowers outside. Anyway, don't miss it. Richard the Lionheart also lived there."
