"Awesome experience for those who understand and appreciate history. The bunkers were fascinating and the trenchwork takes one back in time. There are still ghosts of the past loitering on the grounds. Great outing for those who have a desire to learn and experience."

"Visited Maisy Battery today and explored every trench and bunker on site. It was an intense and unforgettable experience. The layout is incredibly well-preserved, giving a real sense of what the soldiers went through. I was astonished to learn that the entire site had been buried and forgotten until 2006. It made the visit even more powerful. I couldn’t stop thinking about the young lives lost on both sides. This place is a moving lesson in history and a reminder of why peace matters."

"Amazing Battery!!

Well, I can understand that most museums need to be educational and to some extent entertaining for children, there is no comparison to this incredible site.

An area of trenches and battle Hardened concrete bunkers complete with large calibre guns. It’s like as if you turned up on the 7th of June 1944.

The entire site stretches over about 2km square and was buried after it was overrun by the Rangers two days after D-Day. It was only rediscovered about 20 years ago, and now is a “living museum” of gun emplacements and command bunkers.

Best of all, even as midday at the height of the holiday season it was almost empty. One of the best kept secrets, unlike the highly popular and numerous D-Day museums dotted across the coast.

A real experience of the war. I’d highly recommend a visit."
