What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Eglise Saint-Louis Hyères for its unique, simple Romanesque beauty and serene atmosphere, a refreshing contrast to more ornate churches. Its spacious interior and historical ex-votos are highlighted, though some note its plain exterior might not immediately convey its inner charm.
"This church was originally built in the 13th century. It has a very simple Romanesque design to it. The outside of it is plain and reflects back to a simple day of architectural style. The church as small plaques along the interior walls to follow the stages of the cross. There are small, beautiful stain glass windows. The elegance of this place is definitely in the design. You aren't going to see what you would expect to in an ancient church in France. The alter has a minimalist design as well as the statues. It is spacious inside, though you wouldn't know it from the outside. Definitely worth seeing since it is so different than most. A neat thing is that the church is equipped for the hearing impaired."
