What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dou du Praz Plateau offers breathtaking alpine views and a unique ambiance, with recent reviews highlighting improved food quality and enjoyable dining experiences. However, some guests have encountered issues with slow service and high prices, suggesting a mixed but potentially improving visitor experience.
"Late July visit. It seems there is new management since some of the negative reviews on here. Food was excellent, we had tartare savoyarde and tartare du saumon. Thoroughly recommend."
Thomas Baines
"1. My eleven-year-old daughter ordered a plate of salad and got a portion of chips for 10 Euro - see foto.
2. I ordered the forest mushroom starter plate for 20 Euro. On the small plate is a sticky, transparent, half raw fried egg, two spoons of spinach, one and a half industrially cultivated mushrooms - see pictures.
3. My wife chose the wok main course for 30 Euro. The noodles were drowned in oil and glutamate, the chicken strips were raw inside, against every hygiene rule in restaurants - see pictures.
4. We two adults each had a beer and the daughter a Coke plus a large bottle of water together.
Summary:
- for the drinks
- a small appetizer plate with half raw fried egg
- a wok plate with far too much oil, glutamate and raw chicken strips
- for a portion of partly raw fries
we paid the incredible sum of 109 Euro
I neither give a positive recommendation nor do I advise against it. Everyone should look at the pictures and the text and draw their own conclusions about the price-performance ratio of this arrogant restaurant.
P.S.: It's not the waiter's fault. The waiter was very friendly, attentive and very quick, very fast. he really did his best."

"A fabulous lunch where you always feel a little bit special. The food and wine were both superb and after my wife wasn’t a fan of the wine we had ordered, it was all addressed without any issue at all.
The steak’s were perfect and our 2 children adored their cheese fondue.
The combination of the setting, the view, the ambiance and, of course the food, make this my favourite lunchtime restaurant across the whole of La Plagne"
