"When I visited here I could sense the spirit of the old church comes alive inside. I read up before I visited and best thing I did! From the entrance portal of flamboyant gothic (for architectural style buffs) of Corinthian style, to the interior. The three naves with its salient transept with stunning choir and high altar. There are some notable chapels here especially the Chapel of the Virgin to the right of the transept is worth pausing for. I could write an essay on this stunning church but you have to explore it to experience it's historical significance and its understated beauty. Absolutely worth visiting and highly recommended for all ages. It's a short stroll from Gare de La Rochelle and its right in the heart of Vieux-Port."
