What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise the Gabarre Caminade boat tour for its relaxing pace and beautiful scenery, offering a unique perspective of the cliffside village. While the French commentary is rich with information, some English-speaking visitors found the provided audio guide to be less comprehensive. The village itself is lauded for its picturesque charm and historical significance.
"We purchased 2 tickets to do the La Roque-Gageac boat tour directly through Les Gabarre Caminades. The tour was spoken in French with a tour guide. We were English and were given a headset with the audio tour. Our audio was very disappointing and limited. I decided to use Google Translate through my phone to see if the tour guide was giving the same information. It was completely different and she gave lots of great information on what is happening in the region today, especially with the fish in the Dordogne. The audio gave a "Little bit" of information on past history. The French tour guide spoke the whole hour on so much more. Why can't tourists who speak a different language be given the same information translated through the "Live" tour guide. I would not recommend this tour to anyone who does not speak French."

"Loved the tour, with two little kids we didn't fancy the canoes so took the boat. Great English audio tour with lots of facts, beautiful scenery and a nice way to take in the surroundings!"
Charlotte Phillips
"The river is beautiful, the boat is quiet, and the guide is excellent. The tour is in French but the guide speaks very good English as well. There's also an audioguide in English."
