What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Les Grands Bains du Monêtier for its relaxing thermal waters and beautiful mountain setting, offering a unique experience, especially in winter. While generally seen as good value and family-friendly in the mornings, potential visitors should be aware of strict swimwear policies and the importance of booking in advance due to unreliable online systems.
"Very nice place to relax. Hot water in winter is something unusual especially when you see others ski around. We came with kids and they also enjoyed it. All went perfectly.
As a negative, since we came in winter, the hairdryer was not working properly blowing cold air.
We usually revisit this place every year..."
Daniel Ghelesel
"This is probably a very nice thermal bath, and one of the few in France with an informal, family feel. Kids only allowed in the mornings.
But I have to give it minimum score because the website says that there is availability, all hourly slots, but then when you actually try to add a reservation to the shopping card it fails. When we went there it was closed for non-reserved guests.
So the evening before I expected to be able to come at any time. It said 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 etc (earlier in the week I only saw a few slots later that day). In the morning at 8:30 I expected to be able to come at 10. When I actually went to book at 9:00 I couldn't. When I showed up at 10 there was a big sign saying that nobody is allowed in without a reservation. So no bathing. They need to get their reservation system sorted to avoid people planning their day and then getting bumped."

"No admission with anything but speedos, and this policy not visible on the website while making the booking and paying for it. Only possible to buy the swimwear on location and refund of reservation not possible. At least the overpacked human soup outside looks nasty enough!"
