Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Forêt d'Olonne for its beautiful coastal trails and diverse natural landscapes, especially vibrant in spring. While the extensive trail network is a major draw, some reviews mention concerns about forest management and the presence of markers in certain areas. The sandy paths can be tiring but lead to rewarding sea views.

"Sooooo beautiful :)"

Vincent Decarpigny

"Lots of well-marked trails, perhaps a little too many for the sake of the wildlife. Speaking of wildlife, some areas are frequented by sextoyers who leave a few too many markers in their wake! Some sometimes call out to passersby in a rather heavy-handed manner.
Otherwise, forest management is catastrophic, as it is everywhere.
There are lots of gaps in this forest where they leave 1 or 2 trees, but which will fall at the first gust of wind because they're more supported and sheltered by the others.
It's a shame, it's a beautiful forest, and it's very pleasant to walk through it to get to the sea, but be careful, you often walk in the sand; it can be tiring for some."

"This forest is superb! There are some really beautiful walks to do. There are different areas that are starting points for many walks and parking lots. Aire du Menhir, Acalmie, Grande Pointe... And there are also picnic spots with tables. All really nice walks to do, sometimes physical having to climb dunes. With very beautiful viewpoints at the end over the entire beach. There are as many hikers as families or cyclists. And you can finish your walks by going swimming at the beach! The ideal is to continue the walks by passing under the D80 to access the marsh. Spring is a magnificent time, everything is in bloom, in contrasts, beautiful landscapes and so much wildlife to see."
