Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Centre Historique Minier de Lewarde for its immersive and educational experience, particularly the realistic simulated mine tour and the detailed historical exhibits. The availability of English audio guides is a significant plus for international visitors, and the friendly staff contribute to a positive atmosphere. Some visitors noted that the mine tour is a recreation rather than an actual pit, and restaurant reservations are strongly advised.

"Amazing place. The museum is super cool, it explains in very nice way all about mining on the region and on the site. The visit to the simulated mine is as well cool."

Luis Gonçalves

"A good place to visit for about 2-3 hours. Intesting place, english information sheet and listening device for the tour and museum. The mine tour was good. Lots of parking and toilets."

Chris Hancox

"I never thought that I could enjoy this type of visit that much.
The museum is so realistic, you have the feeling of going back to the past.
Count minimum 3hours for a full visit and wear comfortable shoes, it's important.🤪
There's a small shop for souvenirs, many other activities for almost all ages throughout the year.
If you're visiting the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, then you should definitely stop by this museum. It's worth your curiosity especially if you like history though this one isn't a joyful one.

To those who have read "Germinal" of Emile Zola, this museum is the best way to feel like you were present in those days, meanwhile many of us weren't even born when it all happened.😊"
