What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Roseraie du Val-de-Marne for its breathtaking beauty, especially in early June when the roses are in full bloom, calling it a 'feast for the eyes' and 'wonderfully colorful'. However, some express disappointment with recent changes to on-site dining facilities and a perceived loss of charm compared to previous visits.
"This used to be one of my favorite spots — the rose garden is absolutely beautiful and early June is the best time to go if you want to see everything in full bloom. But I was really let down during our last visit. The little café/restaurant with the terrace is gone, and now there’s just a tent and a fast food stand outside the park — not the same vibe at all. We always used to relax there with tea or grab a bite. It felt cozy. Now it feels rushed and not welcoming. Also, where are all the rose-themed souvenirs? Last year we found some cute gifts, like rose-flavored candies and postcards. This time — nothing. It’s sad to see such a special place lose its charm like that."

"I visited the Roseraie de L’Haÿ in early May. While the garden's design was impressive, the roses hadn't bloomed yet. For the full experience, it's better to visit in June when the roses are in full bloom."

"Must see if in the area and in the season. It’s a feast for the eyes. Colourful and wonderful. It’s the oldest rose garden in the world."
