"The Maison Folie Wazemmes is a former textile mill (1855), reworked by Dutch architectural agency NOX and Lars Spuybroek. Contemporary and 19C industrial architecture are blended to great effect. The building's 5 000m2 space is now given over to artists' studios, shows, exhibitions and performances. There is a hammam in the brick vaulted basement."

"A shame they were closed when I visited lille. Quick and polite response on Facebook messenger. Think they only have something going on in September"

"The exhibition in the theme of Eldorado was brilliant as an art show as well as thought provoking in highlighting the trauma struggle poverty and determination of the Mexican people to find a better life. It was stark that the US are racist and cruel; Trump's border wall; it has similarities to Nazi Germany, the split between East and West and the divisions around the globe.
The centre was welcoming and friendly"
