Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently describe Les Buissonnets as a moving and spiritually enriching experience, offering a tangible connection to St. Thérèse's childhood. While the intimate size means waits are common and accessibility can be a challenge, the well-preserved interiors and peaceful gardens leave a lasting impression of faith and family life. Reddit

"We came to Les Buissonnets after visiting the Basilica of St Therese.

Our bus could only stay about 200 meters away because this wasn’t on the main road. The way to the house is not easily accessible to those in wheelchairs.

As the house is small, only 10-15 could go in at a time and so our group of 37 had to go in tranches. The wait wasn’t arduous because there is a front and back garden that also gave glimpses of the life of St Therese as a child.

The interiors are well kept and glimpses of the middle class family of St Therese is quite evident. That there are women in the family is seen in the beautifully kept embroidered beddings, and the visitors cannot miss the religiosity of this family in the many religious articles around the house.

The tour rounds off with a gift shop in the house before exit."

"Ave Maria! What a grace to be in the house and to see St Therese of the Child Jesus' personal belongings. Visiting here was truly a blessing."

"Unbelievable experience visiting childhood home of St. Therese! I had to pinch myself! We had to wait a little bit on arrival. Only a limited number of people are allowed in at one time. We were only 2 Americans. They took 2 large groups of French speakers first then us 2 alone. There is an audio recording detailing each room so we had the tour in English. It is a short but very moving tour. You enter where the kitchen once was, and then see the family dining room. Climbing the original staircase where Therese overheard her father lamenting when would she grow up after Christmas Midnight Mass you enter her bedroom. The bed she slept is still there and I burst into tears sitting on a bench near it listening to the tale of Mother Mary appearing to her there. You also see her father, St Louis's bedroom. Then back down to small gift shop and display of her personal items: toys, clothes, rosary, cross, etc... The exit is through a small garden with statue of her and her father. Free of charge. Donation."
