Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Mémorial des Déportations to be a deeply moving and well-presented historical site, offering poignant testimonies of Marseille's wartime experiences. The free admission is a significant plus, though the site's many stairs and uphill paths present accessibility challenges for some. The panoramic city views offer a striking contrast to the solemn exhibits.

"Went here and had a great time. The staffs were great, it was clean and plenty of shades. The views up top of Marseille was just breathtaking. Plenty of space for everyone and lots of books and crannies to explore. It was free to explore all the way up top. Def a must when in Marseille.

Not ideal for people on wheelchair or crutches ( lots of uphills and stairs) and prams. I didn’t see any lifts."

"Staff was friendly, most of the content was in French and English. Very interesting yet upsetting, but I imagine most things regarding the concentration camps during WW2 are. Free to visit, worth the time."
