"This was something different for sure, I enjoyed the experience. I couldn’t find much information out there about accessing the project so first went to the beach thinking maybe we could hire gear there, but unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be anywhere nearby (or at all?) that hires equipment out. After the afternoon at the beach we took a 30 minute bus ride to a Decathlon, where you can get a mask/swimming goggles for €10-20. For me it wasn’t far enough to need fins, and wasn’t choppy enough to need a snorkel. The area is protected from boats so you don’t need a fluorescent marker, and you can hold onto the white buoy between dives so I didn’t need any kind of flotation device.
There are currently 11 sculptures I think, as laid out in the photo (spoiler!) - they’re all in a circle around the white buoy, none more than 5m away or 5m deep. Very easy, I was only in the water around 30 minutes - it was grey and drizzly out! Had fun trying to guess what some of them were before the barnacles so excuse the naming!
There is one changing cubicle at the beach, outside cold showers, toilets, and a place to leave your things for free (only open from 10am on Saturday).
Hope this helps somebody out. I did also email the museum for a free tour as it says to do on the website but I probably left it a bit late."
