What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the church's authentic Romanesque architecture and its historically significant interior, particularly the Pietà sculpture. The picturesque forecourt, framed by half-timbered houses and a fountain, is frequently praised for its charm. Some find the interior austere, but most acknowledge its historical value and unique dimensions.
"The interior of this Romanesque church is very austere.
Its dimensions are rather curious, as it is actually very wide at the transept. Its forecourt, the fact that it is surrounded by half-timbered houses and a small fountain, is most picturesque."

"The Church of Saint Pierre was built in 1700. The interior is Romanesque in style and dates back to 1100. The aisles are joined to the central nave by stone crosses on either side. Inside, you can see the stone "Pietà," an image of Mary holding the dead Jesus. It was carved in the 15th century and is considered a Historic Monument. There is also an octagonal baptistery from the 1400s and a stone cross behind the altar, dating from 1300. The original is in the Vatican and was made in marble by Michelangelo."
