What Travellers Say
"A tour of designer Jean Prouvé's home offers a unique experience. It's worth noting that this house is currently occupied, meaning it's not a museum. Interior photography is prohibited, and some rooms remain private. During our visit, the organization was chaotic, resulting in a 30-minute wait before the tour began."
Julien Pichillou
"An interesting guided tour (1.5 hours and in summer) of this atypical and avant-garde family home, which deserves to be better maintained by the city of Nancy.
Jean Prouvé was a French ironworker who became renowned for his innovative use of industrial materials and techniques, both in furniture and architecture.
Born in 1901 in Paris, he grew up in a family of artists in Nancy, where his father, Victor Prouvé, was a key figure in the Art Nouveau movement as president of the École de Nancy."
R Vilmus
"This unusual building is inhabited by its occupants, so visits are very supervised but very interesting. Photography is prohibited except of the exterior and the workshop. A must-see to discover the concept, which is sometimes, and in part, taken up by architects today."
