What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Musée Dobrée for its elegant building and diverse, well-explained collections, including art, historical artifacts, and coins. The informative audio guide and accessibility are highlighted as positives. Some reviewers noted minor organizational issues with cloakroom procedures and language barriers with some staff members, but overall, the museum is highly recommended for its rich content and beautiful setting.
"A very elegant and well-stocked museum, it's a shame I was there near closing time. There are so many interesting objects. I would just like to recommend, if possible, better organization. Instead of having us leave all our belongings in one place, we were asked to leave disinfectants first, and then umbrellas and then again to put the backpack in front (by a guard who, moreover, did not understand English). The aforementioned guard also seemed annoyed that I didn't understand him. Too bad, the museum looks amazing. I have to say, though, that the girl at the front office was very nice."

"Very interesting museum with many beautiful exponats! The audio guide is included in the price and is very informative. Staff is friendly and the museum is accessible for people with disabilities. You can easily spend 3-4 hours there."
Violeta Ananieva
"I highly recommend this museum even if you stay in Nantes for only one day, especially for overseas travelers. The building itself is very beautiful with elegant wood panel decoration. There are numerous beautiful collections, most with English explanation or introduction of the historical background. Also the museum has put a lot of effort to multimedia education, which is intriguing and manages to hold attention of both kids and adults. Although the access of it is not included in the Nantes museum pass, it is well worth the visit."
