What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Airbnb Experiences are mixed, with many guests praising unique local activities, delicious food, and engaging hosts. However, some negative feedback points to issues with cleanliness, host communication, and booking discrepancies, suggesting a need for careful selection and clear communication.
"We had such a wonderful stay!! It was so spacious and airy with beautiful windows overlooking the street. The decor was perfect and we really felt like we were living our best Paris dream! The rooms are really big and comfortable! 10/10 would recommend. I hope to be back soon!"

"NO STARS !!!
Terrible, Dirty Apartment
The Cece suite where we stayed is a dreadful place. The apartment is very dirty and unfinished. The bathroom is so filthy that you'd be better off wearing shoes even while taking a shower to avoid bacteria. The sofa is so dirty that you'd rather not sit on it, and you wouldn't want to know what kind of dirt is in it.
In one bedroom, you can't even open the window, and you have to accept that you'll be sleeping next to the entrance door, hearing every move from the neighbors.
Cedric is uncommunicative and unhelpful. On the Click My Flat website, they've deactivated reviews. I mean, what kind of person and company is this?
We highly recommend not booking this apartment if you value normal living conditions."

"Perfectly lovely place! We were so sad to leave! The best location and managers. Everything we needed was taken care of. Clean and wonderful!
Coffee and tea available and a hot shower and washing machine. And a terrace!"

Most Airbnb Experiences provide detailed meeting point instructions in the booking confirmation. Some may suggest public transport options or nearby landmarks. Always check the specific details provided by your host.
This varies greatly by location. Many city-based experiences are easily reachable by public transport. For rural or adventure-based experiences, you might need a taxi or rental car. Hosts often provide guidance on this.
It's crucial to communicate with your host immediately if you're running late. They may have a grace period, but late arrivals can sometimes disrupt the experience for others. Check the host's cancellation policy.
Generally, you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the Airbnb Experience meeting point. The host provides the meeting location, not the transport to it.
Refunds depend on the host's cancellation policy and the specific circumstances. If the inability to reach the location is due to unforeseen issues, contact Airbnb support.

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
When booking, always check the experience description for details on what's included and any specific requirements. Communicating with the host beforehand about your children's ages and any special needs is highly recommended. This ensures everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.
💰 Budget Travelers
Keep an eye out for experiences that focus on local culture and less on expensive materials or venues. Sometimes, the most memorable experiences are the simplest ones, like learning a local craft or exploring a neighborhood with a passionate resident.
💖 Couples
Look for experiences that offer a more intimate setting or a shared creative activity. A pottery class where you can make something together, or a guided tour of a charming neighborhood, can be incredibly romantic and memorable.

Becoming an Airbnb Experience Host
When creating your listing, focus on high-quality photos and a compelling description that highlights the unique aspects of your experience. Be clear about what guests can expect, including the duration, what's provided, and any prerequisites. Hosts are encouraged to be communicative and responsive to potential guests' inquiries. The process involves an application and review by Airbnb to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Many successful hosts emphasize building a personal connection with their guests. This can lead to repeat bookings and positive word-of-mouth. Some hosts even offer virtual Airbnb experiences, allowing them to connect with a global audience from their own homes, which has become increasingly popular.
Navigating Reviews and Host Communication
This highlights the importance of reading reviews thoroughly. Look for consistent feedback regarding cleanliness, host responsiveness, and the overall value of the experience. If multiple reviews mention similar issues, it's a red flag. Conversely, glowing reviews about a perfectly lovely place, great location, and attentive management are strong indicators of a quality experience.
Communication with hosts is key. Before booking, don't hesitate to message the host with any questions. After booking, maintain open communication regarding arrival times or any specific needs. While some hosts are highly responsive, others may be less so, as suggested by one review mentioning a host being uncommunicative and unhelpful. If you encounter significant issues, document them and contact Airbnb support.

Airbnb also offers virtual experiences, allowing you to connect with hosts from around the world online. These can include virtual cooking classes, online tours, or even live performances. This provides a flexible way to explore new interests and cultures from the comfort of your home.
