"For years I did not realize the covered passages existed or how many there were in Paris. These covered passages may have been the early forerunners of shopping malls and are very cool. Shop lined streets covered with cast iron braces and glass. Protected early shoppers from rain, cold and mud. Since I now look for them I have found several in varying forms of preservation and really enjoy them."

"Architecturally it was nice. It's worth a look. Walked through in 5 minutes. The idea of a glass roof over the pedestrian walkways from building to building is interesting. However the neighborhood has much to be desired. The shops are not the greatest, or closed all together. It is and feels a bit desolate. Lots of potential. Just not yet."
