What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Generator Paris is praised for its stylish design, social atmosphere, and convenient location near public transport, making it a popular choice for budget travelers and solo adventurers. While the rooftop views and friendly staff are highlights, some guests note inconsistencies in cleanliness, particularly in shared bathrooms, and a strict policy against outside food.
"The hostel is great! It’s clean, the beds are comfortable, and the showers are really good.
But the real highlight is the service — Mateus at the reception was absolutely outstanding.
He was incredibly attentive, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.
I truly appreciated his support!"

"I stayed at Generator Paris for two days in a four bedroom dorm with an attached bathroom. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a pleasant environment. Check in was smooth. After the process, I received a key card and headed to my room. I was able to easily adjust the room temperature and settle in quickly.
The attached bathroom, with both shower and toilet, was well maintained. The heater worked well, although it was unavailable during the day due to maintenance, but back in service after 8 PM.
The location is excellent for solo travelers. It is well connected by public transport. Colonel Fabien metro station is nearby, bus stops are within walking distance, and Gare du Nord is the closest major train station for long distance travel."

"This hostel had everything I look for when traveling: decent rooms, a smooth check-in, its own bar with happy hours and big lockers in the room.
As a solo female traveler, I also appreciated that there were always several other women in the dorm, sometimes even a 50/50 balance, which made me feel safe.
I stayed in a 10-bed dorm with a bathroom that had two sinks, two showers and one toilet and that setup worked out just fine.
I’ve read mixed reviews about cleanliness and I agree that the shared toilets and showers for the non-ensuite dorms were indeed less clean. The curtains also looked almost as if they had been pulled out of a trash bin, which wasn’t very appealing.
That said, I met so many great people in the downstairs common area and ended up playing a lot of ping pong. The rooftop terrace with a view of the Sacré-Cœur is of course a huge highlight! I definitely recommend watching a sunset from there. The cocktails are on the pricier side but still worth it.
Breakfast deserves a special mention: you get a lot for the price, and it’s genuinely filling. For €9.50 it’s worth it.
They also offer paid luggage storage, but it’s well secured with an automated code-based system and different locker sizes to choose from.
All in all, I had a fantastic stay and will definitely come back the next time I’m in Paris, since I thought the area was nice as well!"

However, it's worth noting that shared bathrooms for non-ensuite dorms have received mixed reviews regarding cleanliness. Heating in rooms can also be a point of concern, with some guests reporting issues with broken heating systems during colder months.
