Reviews Summary
Mama Shelter Paris East offers a trendy, design-forward stay with a popular brunch and lively atmosphere. While some guests find the decor dark and the location a bit removed from central tourist spots, many appreciate the good value, comfortable beds, and unique vibe. Noise can be an issue for some, but the hotel's amenities and friendly staff generally lead to positive experiences.
"After staying at the brand new Mama Shelter in Zurich, I have to say we were a little disappointed at the Paris east location. We had stayed here before many years ago and our memories served us as a good location. This time it seems very dark and dreary. The lobby was dark and the restaurant felt dark and gloomy too. It was decorated for Halloween, but I don't think that made a big difference. The room was fine, but again very dark. There was also this humming/buzz noise that was constant and would sound about every 10-15 minutes for a few seconds and was very annoying, especially throughout the night. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and the food was good. We couldn't have a table as a walk-in; they were fully booked, but the service at the bar was okay. The location is just okay too - great if you are going to Pere Lachaise, but otherwise the Metro is a good walk - especially with luggage. We did find many hidden treasures in the neighborhood - gardens and parks and lots of great coffee shops and restaurants. Overall, we had a great experience, but I don't think we would return."

"Good quality/price relation. The location is quite suspicious, specially at night, when you would arrive from Paris. The room was nice and comfy, but way too hot. The noise isolation is excelent. There were 3 fights outside the hotel one in which the recepcionist took part in one but besides that the reception was very nice. If ur willing to overlook that, is definetly not a bad option. Wouldnt recommend if youre not travelling in groups. Great access to public transportation, theres a supermarket right in front, and its not too far from paris, so you can spend the day there and return at a rational time. Lots of good restaurants around specially if you like middle eastern cuisine."

"The most comfortable beds and pillows I have had in France - the hotel is very cool with a big restaurant and bar although maybe more aimed at couples than family stays. I initially thought it was a bit far out, but I liked the area that had some lovely looking cafes. The metro was a 10 minute walk and on a well connected line so everything worked out well."
