Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Promenade Plantée for its tranquil escape from the bustling city, often comparing it favorably to New York's High Line for its lushness and less commercial feel. It's celebrated as a unique, free urban green space, though some note the lack of amenities directly on the path.

"A calm little paradise in the middle of Paris is only a staircase away and you could easily overlook it. If you need a break from the hectic of the city, this is a great place to take a walk. On this former train line you can walk for a few km on this viaduct and look down to the main streets and into the side streets at many places. But not only this, you can view into the otherwise hidden backyards and see an open air gym (you can go down and use it as well as far as I have seen) and other nice places. It’s worth a visit if you seek the calmness inside Paris."

Manuel Richter

"Who would have thought: right in the noisiest, most hectic corners of the city, all it takes is finding the right staircase and just a few meters above the chaos you suddenly find yourself walking through well-kept green spaces. The noise still echoes up from below, yet it feels like another world: nothing but relaxed strollers, dog walkers and joggers. A refuge and oasis where the hustle and bustle seem far away.
Slow down and enjoy: up here you can discover entirely new perspectives of the city."

Martin K.

"This little part of Paris should not be missed. Its a pleasant way to get a different view of Paris, in a park high above the street. It’s calm and opens up views you otherwise wouldn’t experience. And it’s free :-)"
