Reviews Summary

Paris yoga studios generally receive positive reviews for their high-quality instructors and diverse class offerings, with many praising the welcoming atmosphere and accessibility for beginners. However, some visitors note issues with overbooking leading to crowded classes and occasional concerns about studio ventilation or instructor conduct. Reddit

"I have had the opportunity to take quite a few classes at Modo Yoga and as a beginner I find the classes to be very accessible. The website clearly marks whether the class is accessible to all, intermediate level or advanced. The teachers are very helpful and there are a wide range of courses offered.

I think it is unfair that people have left bad reviews because they were late to their class👀. The studio has a strict policy in regards to access to the studio and as the teacher also works at the front desk doing check-in for their students it is not possible to arrive late as there is no one at the front desk.

The classes can be crowded but frankly I’ve tried a few other yoga studios in Paris and Modo is definitely the most spacious and has a lovely room with a comfy couch where you can take a minute to relax after your class.

Hot yoga is obviously a sweaty activity and if you have a sensitive nose you will definitely pick up on sweat but it comes with the territory 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I 100% recommend this studio and have brought quite a few friends who loved the experience."

Terasia Bradford

"Amazing yoga teacher, but €32 for a packed room is too much. Everyone would get more out of the class if there were fewer people in it — especially since it’s described as being for all levels. Beginners often need more guidance and adjustments, and they could even risk getting hurt trying to keep up with the pace of the more advanced students."

Franziska Bachofen-Echt

"Good studio with high-quality yoga teachers, I absolutely enjoyed Romain’s classes be it Modo Flow, Vinyasa or Yin.
Air ventilation could be improved, you easily smell the sweat as soon as you walk in each studio, although it’s not a deal-breaker for many people it does affect the yoga experience especially because the rooms are heated properly during class.
Classes are too full, it would be a much better experience to have maybe 5 less people per class.
Spacious changing room although more hand towels or a paper towel dispenser would be great (many other studios have this).
The main issue is the lockers whose locks are constantly stuck that we always need to ask for the master key from reception. Wish this could be looked at."

Navigating Studio Etiquette and Policies

Attending yoga classes in Paris involves understanding and respecting studio etiquette. A common point of feedback is the strictness of late arrival policies. Many studios, like Modo Yoga, have a firm rule against admitting latecomers to maintain the class's flow and tranquility. Reddit This means arriving at least 10-15 minutes before your scheduled class is crucial. It's also customary to remove your shoes before entering the practice space and to keep conversations to a minimum to create a peaceful environment.

When it comes to class capacity, some studios have faced criticism for overbooking, leading to crowded rooms where personal space is limited. Reddit This can detract from the experience, especially for beginners who may need more room for adjustments. If you prefer a less crowded practice, consider booking classes during off-peak hours or opting for studios known for their spaciousness. It's also worth noting that while hot yoga is a sweaty practice, some reviews mention that air ventilation could be improved in certain studios, leading to noticeable odors. Reddit

Finally, remember that yoga spaces are intended to be safe and inclusive. Any instances of instructors behaving in an aggressive or demeaning manner are highly concerning and go against the core principles of yoga. Reddit If you encounter such behavior, it's important to report it to the studio management. Being mindful of these aspects will help ensure a positive and respectful yoga experience for everyone.
