"The muddy, puddle-filled pathways are an inconvenience but what got to me was the small enclosures. The lion’s pen is supposed to be new, but I’m wondering why it’s so sparse? Where’s the mental stimulation or even plants for these animals? They’ve had a sad start to life and at least they’re getting nourishment and care here at this zoo, but the enclosure feels small and empty. The elk’s pen felt incredibly small as well for an animal that runs great distances in the wild."
