What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Plage des Tamaris is appreciated for its clean waters and pleasant sandy areas, making it a good spot for a relaxing day. However, some visitors are disappointed by litter and the less-than-ideal rocky terrain of the designated dog area. Parking can also be a bit pricey.
"Small pleasant beach"
Fabrice PITOISET
"Dirty beach... people are disgusting... cigarette butts, papers, beer caps, a total lack of respect!!!!!!!!! The sand is not bad, the sea is clean... lots of dogs, I love that! However, people quickly forget that a dog is not an object! It must have a parasol, water, air... not in the middle of a heatwave with 35 degrees! The price of parking is quite expensive but that's the price to have space on a beach in the south!"
Elo LR
"If you go there to bathe your pet, don't be disappointed when you arrive.... The dog area is very disappointing. You can't even tell that the beach really exists. It's just a path with sharp rocks. Avoid this beach to bathe your dog. Ultra disappointing."

Exploring the Coastal Path
Many travelers appreciate the opportunity to combine a beach visit with a moderate hike. The path provides a different perspective of the coastline, moving beyond just the immediate beach area. It's a chance to immerse yourself in the Mediterranean landscape, with fragrant maquis vegetation and stunning sea vistas. The diverse scenery along the trail ensures that even a single hike can offer a variety of photographic opportunities and sensory experiences.
Understanding Dog-Friendly Policies
It's important to manage expectations if you plan to visit with your dog. The beach is better suited for a walk along the shore or the coastal path rather than a dedicated dog beach experience. Some travelers express frustration that dogs are not more widely welcomed on the beaches of Hyères. If a truly dog-friendly beach with amenities is a priority, researching other options in the region might be more fruitful.
Maintaining Beach Cleanliness
Travelers are encouraged to be mindful of their impact and to practice 'leave no trace' principles. Bringing a small bag to collect your own trash, and perhaps even picking up any stray litter you see, can make a significant difference. This collective effort helps preserve the beauty of Plage des Tamaris for everyone to enjoy. The parking fees, while a cost, are partly to help maintain the area, but personal responsibility plays a crucial role.
