What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the Finistère Prefecture are mixed, with some visitors praising the professionalism of the staff and the opportunity to see historical rooms during events. However, others report significant issues with appointment-only access, long wait times in inclement weather, and a perceived lack of public service efficiency.
"Made to stand outside in the cold and rain before being given permission to enter.
This is a public services building. Not being able to gain entry without having an apointment is not a service. They appear to be extremely short staffed and overloaded with work. Its not the fault of the staff. The building management need to find a solution so the tax paying public can be served as they should be and not treated as a nuisance.
You can walk into a Tax office during working hours without a appointment be treated in the correct manor!, seated, and wait for the correct officer to help you. Why not public services?"

"As part of the 2025 Heritage Days.
A wonderful visit by appointment allowed us to discover the unofficial and primary function of this place.
The prefecture, with its private side, is very beautiful. Visit the reception rooms (large and small), the garden, and the magnificent Jean Moulin room.
Highlighting Breton heritage, including tableware from the Quimper HB HENRIOT factory, the same goes for the sculptures of various earthenware busts (Bazin, Anna Quimquaud, Meditation by le Bozec, etc.), paintings by Mathurin Méheut, and linens from Le Minor (Pont l'Abbé).
Thank you for your welcome and sharing today.
Thanks also to our guide Rachel (Quimper Cultural and Heritage Service)🤗"
