Reviews Summary

Visitors are drawn to the Cimetière du Crêt de Roc for its stunning city views and the artistry of its ornate tombs, finding it a peaceful and reflective space. However, many note a significant lack of maintenance, with overgrown paths and faded signage detracting from its beauty.

"Beautiful cemetery. I get lost in it's ornate tombs and walkways ..I keep going back. It's my comfortable place ."

Jacqueline A

"The reflection of the city!!! . Poorly maintained cemetery, the paths are never weeded!! Very few watering cans available and of the 2 gates only the main entrance remains open, which is regularly used as a parking lot for vehicles, so getting around with elderly people is a real challenge. The staff is non-existent and the cleaning leaves something to be desired!! Both inside and out. I have been going there regularly for over 30 years, the deterioration is very visible. We are waiting for improvements."

Irene Werlen

"Opened in 1819, the Crêt-de-Roc cemetery is the largest in Saint-Étienne with nearly 12,000 graves."
