What are some must-do's in Paris that most people would never know to do?

Hello! I'm off to Paris in a week with my boyfriend as a birthday present :) It's a city I've dreamed of going to forever and I want to do everything I possibly can to make the experience the best. We're going for two weeks, leaving May 29th and coming back June 12. We've got…

Reviews Summary

The Hôtel de Ville is a visually stunning location, particularly praised for its sublime wedding hall and beautiful garden, making it ideal for ceremonies and photos. While initial phone interactions can be challenging, on-site staff are often very helpful and apologetic. Visitors should note that most city services are located at a separate administrative center.

"Very unpleasant and aggressive phone reception a few days before my wedding. I wanted to know if an interpreter could come because part of the family doesn't speak French. The person replied: "They should know what it is, a wedding is a wedding." On the day of the wedding, a very kind lady apologized to us and her entire team was great. It turns out that it was her manager who had this contemptuous attitude. I sincerely hope that this is an isolated case and that the other lovely couples from Saint-Germain and their foreign guests will be treated better."

"The wedding hall is absolutely sublime.
The Town Hall is located just across the street from the castle, at the RER A exit. If you have the opportunity to visit, there are some magnificent period furniture upstairs.
The garden, although small, is always well-maintained and therefore perfect for taking some post-civil ceremony photos.
A must-see.
Please note: most of the city's services are located at the administrative center, not here."

"The city plans to charge admission to the Fête des Loges, but where are we going?
We already pay for the attractions. If you need to restore balance, make the fairground workers pay. It's up to them to pay because they're the ones who make the profit. We're not going to charge for admission on top of the attractions and give away money. The fairground has been free for nearly four centuries, 372 years, and little by little, we're getting closer to charging for the oxygen we breathe.
I've known the fairground for 50 years, and if that changes, no matter how small the amount, we won't go anymore and will visit other sites.
Let's not lose the symbol of this nearly four-century-old festival that unites us."
