Reviews Summary
The Prieuré Saint-Nicolas-de-Campagnac is lauded for its stunning historical setting and the quality of its restaurant, Locus Solus. However, some guests have reported challenges with owner communication and a perceived lack of service, particularly in accommodation aspects.
"Prieuré Saint Nicolas is a stunning venue where we held our wedding. Sadly, I can’t recommend it. The owner, Arnaud, was incredibly difficult to work with—rude, unhelpful, arrogant, does not listen or care about our requests, and simply unprofessional. Despite the beautiful setting, planning with him was a constant source of stress. In a last attempt to navigate the situation, we ended up contacting previous couples who had their wedding there to ask for advice. They told us they had a similar experience. One couple ended up recommending us a on-the-day coordinator, Marine, who we ended up hiring, and who really saved our wedding.
We also ended up not taking the catering of the venue, despite initially wanting to do so and liking the food, but we didn’t want to have yet another headache to discuss with the owner (who by the way does not leave any decisions to be made by his staff. Unless an issues goes through him, the staff is unable to make a decision).
The place is beautiful and Arnaud has really turned it into a visually stunning place, but the service just does not live up to the place, neither as a wedding venue, nor as a 5 star hotel. Despite paying a premium price, basic services were missing: no fridges in rooms (during a heatwave), no reception after 6pm, and broken promises on venue readiness.
Even after the wedding, his only message was to complain about some trash one hotel guest had left behind in the room, instead of an a “congratulations on your wedding” message.
The region has many stunning places that also come with hospitality and actual service.
Despite all that, we had a beautiful wedding and thank you to Prieure’s other staff who tried to give us a good experience."

"We had a wonderful experience today for lunch. The food was excellent and the hosts were great. Highly recommend the restaurant!"
Paula Ludwigson
"The rooms may look nice, but everything else is a disaster. There is no reception, no staff to help with anything, no place to buy even basic things like water, and not even a fridge in the room to store anything yourself. No cleaning is done during the stay either.
I was here for a wedding, and every single guest – including the bride and groom – was disappointed. It was clear that no one was happy with the experience. Yes, the location is pretty, but that doesn’t make up for the complete lack of service. This is not a hotel – it’s a self-service accommodation with zero responsibility from the owners."
