The beautiful vineyard scenery and unique historic cellars, like those built under churches, are frequently praised, making for a memorable visit.
"Thankfully open during the harvest and we got to meet Paul Bizard and have our first tastings of Savennières appellation wines. As it was a sunny day (and they were busy with production inside) we had the tastings outside which also had a great view. Seriously good wines. Liked the fact that the wine-making is done in the old church.
Relatively easy to cycle to from Angers (bar the final wee hill to the Château)."

"We had an amazing wine tasting experience here. Delicious wine, beautiful surroundings. The person who gave us the wine tasting experience, was a young gentleman, so knowledgeable, informative and with great English, we are fans of his creation on the rose wine label! Thank you for teaching us about your wine! 🙏

"We did a tour and tasting at Château d'Epiré having sent an e-mail in advance to arrange a date and time. The tour was very interesting and took us on a short walk to the vineyards where we could look back over the village and look over the river. Laëtitia kindly gave us the tour and tasting in excellent English, she was very welcoming and knowledgeable. She gave us a commented tasting of five wines, we thought the highlight was Le Hu-Boyau."
