"Here are real monks. I saw them all dragged up beautifully in heavy cream silk vestments carrying out mass in front of a small audience in the marvellous ancient cavernous abbey. One of the monks led the singing in the sweetest voice imaginable, with a mannerism, (a bit like the opera diva Renee Fleming,) of producing final sugary 's's (as in sanctuS, benedictuS) after a momentary silence: a most gratifying effect. One thought such loveliness a thing long gone."
Richard Cox
"Beautiful abbey, from the 7th Century, where the Benedictine monks have established their presence a few years ago. The history of this abbey is so rich. The Holy Mass is prayed in both the Novus Ordo and Tridentine forms. This site is a treasure."
Michael B
"A beautiful old abbaye, clean stone with minimal modern intrusion."
