Reviews Summary
Visitors are consistently delighted by the vibrant and joyful art of Dom Robert, praising the breathtaking tapestries and the museum's perfect layout. The historic Abbaye-école offers a rich backdrop, especially when explored with passionate guides. While the experience is often described as understated, its artistic and historical depth leaves a lasting impression.
"We enjoyed a visit to the Musee Dom Robert during our stay in the charming village of Soreze. The museum is inside the Abbey School building and we wasted some time on a self-directed tour of the school before discovering the Dom Robert exhibition, which contains a great display of his work and some other 20th century tapestry art. The Dom Robert work is breathtaking. Colour and form and happiness exudes from his pieces. There is a temporary exhibit of his sketchbooks and a short presentation film in the school that is also worth stopping by, but make sure to head to the main exhibit first to ensure you have time to walk round and absorb it all."
Julie Gibbons
"An exceptional visit at the Abbaye-École led by a very well informed and passionate guide, who, we later discovered, was a former student there. The Dom Robert museum was a real find too with its beautifully ornate cartons and tapestries. Wishing you well with the national museum status designation!"
