So many of you asked about our sleep over at the @natural_history_museum I decided to pop a post here. It was hands down the best family experience we have done and made for an unforgettable birthday. I think Charlie and I loved it as much as Ted. Having the freedom to wonder around such an incredible building was so special and we even saw the wildlife photographer of the year exhibition whilst...

While it's a small museum, it offers an educational and interesting experience, particularly for those who appreciate detailed natural history displays. Some find the strict supervision rules for very young children restrictive, but the adjacent playground is a highly recommended alternative for families.

"The staff here are very friendly. The South African lady is a hoot. Very nicely organised with interesting exhibitions. The taxidermy is top notch."

"Nice little free natural history museum but wouldn’t recommend if going with very small children, as they won’t have the freedom to move around.
We walked in with our toddler who was very excited to see dinosaurs, and were told in the entrance he could only come in if he held my hand. As my toddler is very curious and is used to exploring museums at his own pace, unrestrained, it felt too restrictive for him and not very fun. If going with very small children I would recommend instead staying outside as the museum playground is very nice, especially the water feature."

"Museum Departmental du var is a nice place with a playground for children. The museum is a small one. It is accessible via public transportation. No entrance fees."
