What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Château-Mairie for its beautifully preserved medieval charm, authentic buildings, and the unique town hall located in a castle. The village offers lovely views and a pleasant atmosphere, with good restaurants available. However, some find the limited indoor dining options a drawback, particularly for families with babies.
"Lovely views, great restaurants, only reason for 4 stars if that there aren’t many options to sit inside to dine. Having a baby is difficult to stay outdoors and eat"

"unique preserved village, authentic buildings, visit on day of the open market for more fun, and watch Hitchcock 1955 to catch a thief with helicopter view to figure out how preserved it is ! beautiful"

"One of the most beautiful villages in the hinterland of the 06. The mayor is very available with his team and does his best. It's a town where life is good. Very good restaurants for a gourmet stopover and shops that make the inhabitants self-sufficient: bakeries, butcher-caterer, grocery stores including an organic one, mini market, tobacconist, newsagent, wine cellar, pharmacy, doctors, physiotherapist, hairdressers, beauty center, all this for such a small village of 4200 inhabitants. We feel good there 🩵"
