Manage Expectations for a Sweet Treat

While the Haribo Candy Museum offers a glimpse into candy history, reviews suggest it's more of a quick stop than an in-depth experience. Manage expectations, especially for younger children, as some find it underwhelming for the price. The real draw for many seems to be the extensive candy shop.

Shop Smart, Visit Wisely

The on-site Haribo shop is a major attraction, but prices can be significantly higher than supermarkets. Consider visiting during off-peak times to avoid crowds, especially if your primary goal is shopping. Some visitors recommend skipping the museum entirely and heading straight for the store.

We were like kids in a candy store…wait, we were in a candy store! We literally stumbled across the Haribo Candy Museum while exploring the region around Uzes. It was soooo much fun and we bought way too much candy but I love our new yellow bear who is now our car mascot! #frenchadventures

Reviews Summary

The Haribo Candy Museum offers a quirky glimpse into candy history, with its extensive shop being the main draw for many. While some find the museum exhibits dated and overpriced, others appreciate the unique candy selection and photo opportunities. It's best enjoyed by dedicated Haribo fans who manage their expectations regarding the museum's depth and shop prices.

"It is nice to visit if you’re in the area however, it seems very expensive for what it is. You get to try one candy and unfortunately for us, it was served by someone whipping their nose and coughing so that didn’t seem great. Staff on entrance were really grumpy too! Nobody was dressed up either so the kids were a bit disappointed. What a shame for a place that should be magical! Including candy smell around would make it much nicer too!
Luckily the older man and the man at the till in the shop were much friendlier and helpful."

Elodie Osborne

"Terrible waste of money. Paid £30 for myself and 2 children. Absolutely nothing to see or learn. We watched a film, saw some big plastic fake sweets that you could take a pic with and were given a few sweets. The shop at the end was extortionate. Double the price of buying the same sweets at the supermarket. My children were bored in 15 minutes and we left. Definitely avoid"

Sarah Smith

"The Haribo Museum in Uzès is a fun and quirky place to visit, especially with older children. It offers an interesting look into the history of Haribo and how their famous sweets are made. There are some interactive displays and machines that show the production process, which can be entertaining and educational.

That said, the museum does feel a bit outdated in parts. The exhibits could use a refresh, both visually and in terms of interactivity. It also seems like many visitors come mainly for the shop at the end, which sells Haribo candy in large bulk packages; almost like a mini candy warehouse.

Overall, it's a sweet stop for a short visit, but don’t expect a modern, high-tech experience. It’s best enjoyed if you’re already a Haribo fan."
