Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Cathédrale de Maguelone for its stunning Romanesque architecture, unique albino peacocks, and beautiful natural setting with lagoons. Many appreciate the free entry and the peaceful atmosphere, making it a worthwhile historical and scenic excursion. Some note that the exterior might not be as impressive as the interior, and access logistics require some planning.

"That’s a cathedral in the middle of salt marshes.

Everyone already saw cathedrals and churches, and France clearly offer you an infinite amount of those everywhere you go. But in salty marshes ?

But honestly that’s about it, it’s not an exceptional building, so if you feel like you wouldn’t be moved by the view, you should probably pass"

Morgane Crosnier De Bellaistre

"A beautiful place with lovely antique architecture, kept it in impeccable condition. There is a little train (which was free when we went) from the parking all the way to the beach making stops at the cathedral.
The albino peacocks and peahens, which inhabit the estate all year, are lovely and their calls gives the place a very unique atmosphere. If you come at the right season, you may even see flocks of flamingos in the backwater."

Ahaeli C

"Very nice place to visit."
