I knew it was beautiful, but I didn’t know it would be THIS beautiful… The fall (September-October) is arguably the best time to visit French Polynesia, as it’s the peak of the season when you can hop into the water with humpback whales (and often some very playful calves!) If the marine life doesn’t sway you, the white sandy beaches, mountain views, and striking turquoise water will. We recom...

This was one of the most incredible experiences we’re ever had!✨ The best time to go swimming with the whales is from July-November but we think September and October is THE BEST because you can swim with their calves too 🥹 We went out with @mooreamoanatours and did both a public and private tour, and during the private tour within our first 15 minutes on the water we got this encounter with a m...

Reviews Summary

Moorea is overwhelmingly praised for its stunning natural beauty, particularly its crystal-clear lagoons and lush volcanic peaks. Visitors rave about the incredible marine life encounters, especially swimming with whales, sharks, and stingrays, and the friendly, informative tour guides who enhance the experience. While some find it can be pricey, the unforgettable memories make it a worthwhile destination.

"Outstanding day out with Captain Mana and a great group of people. Promised and delivered swimming with Rays and Sharks, reef snorkelling, a great lunch and loads of fun. Thanks Miti Tours."

"Our family of three took the 6-hour Moorea Miti Snorkeling & Lunch Tour and it was excellent! Nolte was our Captain and Mana was the Tour Guide. There were 12 passengers and we all fit very comfortably on the boat. There is a pad area on the front of the boat where you can sit as well. I picked this tour since I wanted a small size. We were staying at the Manava Beach Resort and just walked down to the dock to meet the boat.

The sky and water were amazing shades of blue as we sped along. We stopped in Cook’s Bay and then ‘Ōpūnohu Bay while Mana gave us a history of each. At our first stop to snorkel we saw black tip sharks and stingrays which was so cool! The stingrays are so soft to touch and the sharks just glided by us. There was an array of beautiful, vibrantly colored fish swimming in and out of the coral reef.

At the second snorkeling spot, there was a bit of a current near the entrance between the small two islands but if you brought your own fins, it’s a good place to use them. It was much calmer closer to the shore. More beautiful fish were to be seen in and around the coral reef. Nolte offered us juice or beer at this stop along with delicious pineapples that he freshly cut while we were snorkeling.

Then we made our way to the motu and Nolte taught us how to peel and open coconuts, there was a class on the beach to make poisson cru, and then a lunch which was cooked and prepared by Mana. The menu was comprised of local dishes and everything was so delicious! While Nolte was making the poussin cru, a stingray was swimming around his feet. After lunch, Nolte offered a hat making demonstration and a few other activities. It was so nice to swim in the gorgeous, warm blue water for a bit before sailing back to the dock.

We had a fabulous day thanks to Nolte and Mana! They were very friendly, informative, very personable and quite entertaining. During the day, we learned a lot about Polynesian culture and had a fabulous snorkeling experience. I would highly recommend this tour with Moorea Miti Tours and I would definitely do it again!"

"My family was reminiscing about our favorite memories of 2023 and our day with Moorea Miti Tours definitely tops the list (I can't believe that I didn't leave a review sooner)! The communication before the tour is fantastic (when traveling internationally, it's sometimes very complicated to connect with a tour provider for arrangements) and they provide pickup/transportation from the ferry terminal. We were the only English speakers on the boat but our guide did an awesome job of switching between French and English so we always knew what we were looking at and felt included. If you're yearning for an exotic escape to crystal clear water, swimming with sealife, tasting fresh, local cuisine and hanging out with friendly people who radiate positive energy then you should book this trip! :)"
