What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hauru Point Tiahura is praised as a beautiful public beach with clear turquoise waters and soft sand, offering convenient parking and amenities like restrooms and a restaurant. Snorkelers particularly enjoy the accessible marine life, including clownfish and a good chance of spotting turtles further north. The main drawbacks are the limited shade and the park's early closing time.
"Great spot for easy snorkeling as well as sunning in the sand. Straight out from the dock we found the clownfish in the anemone as described by Nick...and have not seen anemone at any other snorkeling spot. Great parking and showers. A winner!"

"Plage de Tiahura is a beautiful small beach with a relaxing atmosphere. There’s a park just behind the beach, as well as a restaurant and public restrooms, which is very convenient. However, there are only a few shaded spots directly on the beach, so it can get quite sunny during the day. Still, it’s a great place to unwind and enjoy the lagoon."

"A decent beach with some shade and not too crowded. It was hard to find good beach access with easy parking along this coast -this park made it easy, except it closes at 5:30PM and there is a gate. A bit inconvenient because it would be a great place to enjoy a sunset. There is better snorkeling in other areas of the island, but I swam out nonetheless, and found plenty of fish and coral. Lots of anemone and clownfish here - I didn't see the elusive little fish anywhere else on the island but here they were plentiful."
