Planning Your Visit

Evening Tour Timing is Key

For the best stargazing, aim for evening tours, ideally in July/August. Arriving around 9 PM can be crowded with families; consider a slightly later arrival to avoid peak times. The road up is sealed but winding, so drive carefully at night.

Payment and Group Size

Be prepared for cash-only payments, and ideally have the exact amount plus a small buffer. If your group is less than five people, you'll need to pay for the remaining spots to meet the minimum group size for tours.

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the unforgettable stargazing experiences, with many marveling at seeing planets like Saturn's rings. The passionate staff and the historical museum also receive high marks. However, some find the organization, particularly payment methods and group size policies, to be poorly managed.

"I’ve seen a Saturn 🪐 with my own eyes, it was fantastic! Meanwhile the sky was cloudy ☁️ night we were waiting and listening for a lecture on the history of astronomy 🔭 and telescopes kinds, achievements of the observatory. Unforgettable moment came when clouds cleared and we went to see the sky using this amazing telescope"

Michael Vladimir Karpov

"This was my second time touring the observatory, and once again it was an exceptional experience! Staff are extremely passionate, and it's great to see their work is being recognised again with increased funding and a new telescope.

No need to book a tour in advance during summer, just show up and the guide will come to you (you might have to wait at the gate – unfortunately the security guards are not as friendly!). Staff are communicative via WhatsApp if you have any questions.

We had a great tour of the museum in English, and were able to use the telescope to view Venus during the day. Come at night (ideally in July/August) for the best stargazing. The road up is sealed but a little uneven and windy, so be extra careful if you're driving at night."

Emily Lush

"Very good place to see Milky Way and the stars, you could stay anywhere around , just take something with you to lay on the ground and to see the stars"
